Hi. I’m Martine Coates (McDougall)

I am an educator, mental health therapist, senior yoga teacher and founder of The Yoga Clinic.

The Yoga Clinic was founded in 2017 with the goal of incorporating body led therapies into the healing journey of clients as an adjunct to psychotherapy, and to support the education of other professionals who work within the field of trauma.

My approach to healing is based on embodiment, relationship and authenticity. I have spent my career working in both public mental services and in private practice and have found that practicing with the inclusion of embodiment has delivered the best outcomes for my clients both in the therapy room and on the yoga mat.

As a mental Health professional and a Yoga teacher I’ve helped thousands of people using my skills from a number of modalities that include TCTCSY Trauma Sensitive Yoga Mental Health Therapy, Trauma Therapy, Intetnal Family Systems (IFS) and Deep Brain Reorienteering (DBR) and EMDR.

My daily practice gives me the confidence to live my life with authenticity and with integrity. I feel deeply privileged to be sharing yoga and therapy services with others. As a TCTSY Trainer, I hope to facilitate a safe space and optimal learning environment in which you can learn and integrate trauma sensitive principles into your work.

All levels of yoga ability are very welcome. You do not need to be a yoga teacher to attend this training.

Martine is a yoga teacher, a psychotherapist who has significant experience in the public mental health system and in private practice and a certified Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga teacher, who was trained in this modality at The Boston Trauma Centre. Martine is also a Licensed Trainer for the Foundational Training in Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga.
